Position Overview:

 The Business Development Associate is responsible for executing the sales and marketing plan in Mongolia for Bumrungrad International Hospital and Vitallife Wellness Center.

The primary role of the BDA is to engage potential medical referral partners (including Hospitals, Clinics, and individual Doctors) and corporate referral partners (including Insurance companies and Travel companies) to send patients to Bumrungrad International Hospital and/or Vitallife Wellness Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

The secondary role of the BDA is to execute local marketing activities to support brand awareness and patient recruitment of Bumrungrad and Vitallife services and expertise. Activities include potential Doctor visit(s) from Bumrungrad and/or Vitallife for consumer & media event(s), Social Media (Facebook), promotional materials distribution, translation of promotional materials from English to Mongolian, and occasional Public Relations with media.

 The BDA will travel occasionally outside of UB to seek medical referral partners. The BDA will maintain regular communication and management reporting to the Bumrungrad International Marketing team, while reporting locally day-to-day to the Mongolia Referral Office team leader.


Position Responsibilities:

 Build Relationships with Physician Referral Network

  • Seek out Hospitals, Clinics, and Physicians to form referral relationships with Bumrungrad International (and Vitallife Wellness Center where appropriate)
  • Focus on Bumrungrad’s high intensity, Tertiary Care specialties CONGOO
    • Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastro-Intestinal, Orthopaedics, and Ophthalmology
  • Seek medical partners outside of UB approx. 4-5 days per month 
  • 2. Build Relationships with Insurance & Corporate Referral Partners 
  • Seek out Insurance company partners and Assistance Companies to include Bumrungrad International in their referral network
    • Seek packages and specialty offers to increase Bumrungrad utilization
  • Seek out Travel & Corporate partners to include Bumrungrad International and Vitallife Wellness Center in their consumer or corporate executive medical insurance offers
    • Target companies inc. Airlines, Tourism Operators, Travel Agencies, etc.
  • Focus on Bumrungrad’s high intensity, Tertiary Care specialties CONGOO
    • Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastro-Intestinal, Orthopaedics, and Ophthalmology
  • Focus on Vitallife’s high intensity longevity screenings and treatments
    • Genetic testing, laser beauty therapies, detoxification therapies, micronutrients 
    • 3. Build Brand Awareness and Patient Recruitment in Mongolia
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador for Bumrungrad International Hospital and Vitallife Wellness Center in Mongolia; pro-actively educate industry and consumer influencers about our quality care, leading technology, and 5-star hospitality.
  • Maximize patient walk-in’s to the UB Referral Office
  • Support the International Marketing team with Mongolia media buy selection and PR partnership opportunities
  • Execute the Sales & Marketing plan annual budget with 0 overspend
    • Manage RO Facebook Page and social media activities
    • Identify brochure needs, execute translation and production for optimal inventory
    • Support the RO team leader in identifying outdoor advertising opportunities
    • Support any BI / VTL Doctor Visit(s) and event(s) to maximize patient recruitment and media exposure; identify event opportunities
  • Monitor key competitor activities/trends (other International Hospital ROs and Wellness Centers)
  • Identify commercial opportunities/trends for healthcare and wellness in Mongolia
  • Support all business development & marketing reporting (activity measurement & evaluation, monthly referral leads, etc.) for Mongolia to the International Marketing team
  • Attend the annual Referral Office conference in Bangkok every March

Position Qualifications:

  • University Degree
  • Highly self-motivated; able to work with autonomy and proactively
  • High achiever; able to hit quarterly targets for performance bonus
  • Verbal and Written fluency in Mongolian, good proficiency in English
  • 5-10 years of sales, business development, and/or marketing experience preferably with relevant experience in the Healthcare industry or related field i.e. Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, or Travel and Hospitality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with both Doctors and businesspeople and build sustainable relationships
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office IT skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to manage a Budget prudently
  • Willing to travel approx. 25%
